NEWS: Today, USD 456 was notified that a student at the elementary building has tested positive for COVID-19. In consultation with OCHD, due to their interaction with others occurring at school while masked, there are not any other resulting home quarantines amongst staff or students. However, given the close nature of the student interaction and the ability to cohort, the district is instituting a "cohort schedule" for 3rd grade students. Parents of those students are to be contacted today by school staff and we will discuss the specifics of the schedule with parents directly. This does not affect any other grade level in the district. USD 456 continues to encourage students, parents, and staff to stay vigilant about their health, stay home when symptomatic, mask up when in public, and maintain appropriate hygiene during the course of the day. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

To learn more and apply, please contact Sarah Minshull at sarah@ks.childcareaware.org. These funds require a separate application, but please let Sarah know you submitted a Quality Subgrant application as that may be a helpful starting point. NOTIFICATION: To address mounting concerns in conducting winter sports during a pandemic and considering recommendations from KDHE, KSDE, KSHSAA, and the Osage County Health Department, the Lyon County League superintendents met and drafted a revision to its' league guidance document. This revision restricts spectators at winter sports events to four guests per home team participant and two guests per visiting team participant. While restrictions may be more restrictive at schools according to local mandates, each league school will meet this agreed upon maximum amount. At MDCV, tickets will be distributed to participants at least 24 hours in advance. While tickets will be required for spectators to gain entrance, home passes or league passes will still be honored as a form of payment for gate fees. For further clarification on the steps being taken by league schools to mitigate pandemic issues, please refer to the LCL Return to Activities Guidance: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1bHIAZwc0xpmnCL43egO_Woti21gXtzyrBcCDQOvbENo/edit?usp=sharing
